Poor and middle class people often feel resentment towards the rich – after working like a beaver for several decades and finding yourself not better off than when you’ve started, it is easy to assume that those who earn a thousand times more with seemingly lesser effort are either devilishly lucky or plain dishonest. In truth, the difference between the middle class and the rich is not so much about luck or morals as about state of mind. Which means that by learning to think like the rich you can make your first step to achieving the same level of success.

1.The Wealthy Prioritize Earning over Saving
Work hard, start saving early, live below your means – it’s all the usual advice for building your financial independence. And it is exactly opposite to what rich people do. They don’t put money away for a rainy day in order to ensure their future – they put it to work. They aim at increasing their earning ability, which is very rarely limited to simply working harder. Instead of trying to ensure the safety of already earned money, they try to make this money bring them even more dividends – and we are not talking about retirement funds but full-fledged investments: in real estate, in business, in everything middle class people consider too risky.


2. The Wealthy Live within Their Means
At the same time, the rich don’t increase their earnings just to feed their ever-growing appetites for consumption – they do it to satisfy their appetites for growing richer. When a middle-class person suddenly starts earning considerably more, he is quick to show it: by buying a more expensive car or moving to a larger house, for example. Since early childhood most of us are taught to be reasonable about our dreams and desires. 1. You’ve lived and learned

2. You have a comfy bed to sleep in
I’ll never forget an interview done on NPR a while back. A young Haitian mother told her story. She had little ones that constantly wondered when they would be able to eat and go to school like all the other kids around them. What impacted me the most about this story was their sleeping arrangements: they all laid on the dirt floor, and at night if it rained everyone would have to get up, grab whatever was left of their “bed” and move to a dry spot.  This story gave me a whole new appreciation for my bed and I hope it does the same thing for you!

3. You strive to be better
The fact you are feeling a bit down because you haven’t achieved what you want to achieve shows you are trying. In the grand scheme of things, you always strive to be better and for as long as you continue to do that, happiness, success and love will come – just don’t give up. Einstein once said: “It’s not that I am so smart, it’s that I stay with problems longer.” Hang in there and never stop striving to be all you can be!
 
4. You have/had a job
Whichever way you look at this one, it is still a win-win situation for you. If you have a job: kudos! Keep at it and know that you are richly blessed.  If you recently lost your job, don’t fret! You’ve gotten a job before, you can get one all over again. Perhaps this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to do something you truly love to do. Keep searching, keep hoping, and know that you can accomplish the seemingly impossible if you work hard and believe you can.

This one should not be overlooked. Do you ever watch Bear Grills and all his desperate moves to get just a few ounces of muddy water? There are also people who aren’t going without water because they have a survival show, but instead because it is their harsh reality. Around 783 million people do not have access to clean water around the globe. Be thankful and fully aware that you are doing well in life even if you don’t think so.

10. You have a dream
Whatever your dream is, it’s yours. You have the ability to embrace it and create it. Don’t give up on dreaming or on your dreams. They are what life’s best things are made up of.

You have the power to choose happiness for your life in everything you do and in every circumstance.  Your happiness is defined by whether or not you are able to discern and seize an opportunity to feel happy. It may be something as simple as enjoying the laughter of a child.

Can you imagine what this world would look like without forgiveness? Never mind the world, just your life! Imagine how bogged down, bitter and unhappy you would be if you did not have the ability to forgive other’s mistakes as well as your own. Read This Is If You Need To Believe You’re Worth Loving

I think it’s so important to talk about when you’re struggling. Right now I am struggling. I’m struggling with who I am, what I want and what I’m not. I’ve been actually focusing on what I’m not a lot lately and how this makes me feel like I’m not measuring up to other peoples standards. I preach self-love but my own has been wavering lately.

Here’s what I’m not. I’m not ever going to be under 6 feet. I’m never going to be a size 2. I’m never going to be able to deny a hamburger. I’m not the most emotionally open person. I’m not the person who cries at sad endings in movies. I’m not the person who often talks about their vulnerabilities because being vulnerable scares the shit out of me. While this is a pretty small list of things I’m not, I focus on these things on a regular basis like it’s an evil mantra.

How come when things start to get hard or we start to lose our way that we ultimately fall back on a list of things we’re not? How many times have you told yourself you’re not good enough because of this list? If you’re anything like me then it’s a lot. As soon as I start to fall for someone these insecurities start to creep up and fester.

They start to taunt me and tell me that I am not good enough for the person I am interested in.
Ultimately these words seep into my conversations and make the other person see the wounds I try to hide under the surface.

Why do we do this to ourselves? Because if you’ve been telling yourself the same mantra for the span of your lifetime then changing that thought pattern is going to be the most difficult thing ever. The good news is that you can change your thought pattern. I know what I’ve just written might seem foreign but it’s true. You can change it. It takes a lot of work but you can do it.
How? Small tweaks to the everyday language that rotates in your mind. When you look in the mirror don’t focus on all the small imperfections but instead focus on everything that you’ve got going on today. Great hair day? Praise yourself. Beautiful smile? Tell yourself out loud. It’s not shallow to give yourself compliments. In fact you should be giving yourself compliments on a regular basis.

I have an alarm that goes off every day at different times that reminds me I’m worth something. Some people would consider it sad that I need to remind myself but like I said it’s hard to undo the negative mantras we’ve been telling ourselves for the last however many years. I also make sure that when that alarm goes off it’s got a song that makes me smile. So today at 2:26 PM I smiled because One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ reminded me I was worth something.

So here’s what I am. I’m smart. I’m funny. I have a mouth as bad as an angry trucker who just got cut off. I love people unconditionally. I have a ton of kinks to workout but I’m dedicated to fixing them. I’m open and understanding. I want people to feel comfortable and encouraged. I listen to people when they’re at their lowest because everyone needs someone to listen without judgement.

We focus so much on what we’re not we forget what we are.

I promise you if you start to think about all of the good you have to offer it’ll get easier to silence the voices poisoning you with all the negative. All you have to do is start taking baby steps and eventually you’ll be making leaps and bounds towards positivity.

Some women feel a “Real Man” doesn’t exist—that he is impossible to find. Other women do not want someone like him. On the other hand, some men think they are the very definition of a “Real Man.” Other men feel there is no such thing. One thing is true, though: Those men who think they are the very definition of a “Real Man” and those who think they are not are both very often wrong.

If you want to know if you are a real man or are in a relationship with a real man, watch the actions. A real man behaves so different from the selfish frat boy types you see everywhere that you can’t fail to notice the difference. He is a gentleman—good for more than just the first few months. He will stay faithful no matter what and expects you to do the same.

3. A real man protects his partner physically and emotionally.
Not that a woman can’t protect and defend herself, but he is there for her anyway. He protects her in different ways, including providing financial security and comforting her and making her feel everything will be okay. He is ready to throw a good punch if necessary to defend her from physical aggressors. However, he thinks before he acts. He never makes a move until he is sure all details and specifics are in order. His moves are calculated, deliberate and assured. Abuse of any kind is never an issue when you are with him. He is considerate and treats everyone kindly.


4. A real man fulfills his partner mentally and sexually.
He knows the majority of time in any relationship is spent doing nonphysical, nonsexual things. Besides whispering to her how beautiful she is or how he is going to make hot, passionate love to her when he gets back home in the evening, he also engages her in meaningful discussions about life, plans with her for the future, and cracks jokes to lighten and liven moments together. He displays an awareness, intelligence and sensitivity that makes his actions not only timely, but also genuinely charming.


5. A real man takes the first initiative—he leads.
That’s because he wears the pants in the relationship. Of course, the pants are picked out by his woman, but he is still the leader. He steps forward and addresses issues in the relationship boldly. He does not wait for the woman to solve problems. If he is not sure how to address an issue, he seeks help or advice. Some men play it safe and avoid taking the lead because they don’t want to be criticized, but not a real man. A real man says, “I’ll handle it,” and takes the initiative to solve the issue in his way.


6. A real man steps up and makes the tough decisions.
He knows real men are decisive and he makes decisions in the relationship. He does not leave every other decision to his partner. When making decisions, he seeks to understand her views (and that of other concerned parties) and is flexible enough to factor in those other views in his decisions. He does not seek to control people, but rather to improve their situation. If you are reluctant to make decisions, you are likely self-conscious and afraid of making mistakes. Women dislike indecisive, cowardly men.


7. A real man takes responsibility for his actions and decisions.
He does not shift blame (especially to his partner) or try to defend his mistakes. He simply acknowledges when he has made a mistake, apologizes for it, learns from it and works to make it right. Saying, “I am sorry,” is not a big deal to him. He knows it doesn’t make him any less of a man to say it. In fact, saying he’s sorry makes him more of a man because it demonstrates he has the confidence, courage and integrity to admit his faults and seek to correct them.


8. A real man speaks his mind—always.
He is not afraid or timid to say what’s on his mind. He will say no without fear whenever he doesn’t agree with something. He will debate you on topics he is not comfortable with without losing his cool. He will be straightforward and talk to you as an equal, then allow you to make your own conclusions or take whatever action you wish. This does not mean he is indifferent or treats women badly. He just doesn’t agree with her on everything. He knows a “Yes-man” is no man at all.


9. A real man stands up for the relationship.

Sometimes friends, family and even total strangers ask inappropriate questions or make inappropriate remarks about your relationship, such as saying you are not a “good couple.” In such cases, a real man stands up for himself and defends the legitimacy and integrity of his relationship. Even when he is among his peers, he speaks up and stands his ground in defense of his relationship. This proves he can express himself in the presence others, protect his woman and act like a grown man.


10. A real man pursues other passion(s) that don’t involve his partner.

10 Most Effective Butt Exercises to Shape Up Your Body

Everyone wants to get in shape as soon as they sense that summer is around the corner. However, shaping up means different things to different people.

While guys focus on losing a few pounds and buffing up their chest and arms, most girls and some guys like to sculpt the perfect derriere that will give them the confidence to strut around town in those tight new jeans. If you want to really target the glutes, you’ll definitely need some of these great butt exercises.

First thing’s first – structure your workouts
You can’t just do a few minutes of some random exercise when the mood strikes you, or do about 100 sloppy and quick repetitions before calling it quits. There are a couple of important concepts you need to understand before starting your workout:

You need about 3 sets of 2-3 exercises for a targeted body part.
You need a challenging weight; more than 12-15 repetitions and you are working on mostly endurance instead of growing muscles.
You need progressive overload to make muscles grow, i.e. adding weight, increasing repetitions, adding more sets, doing a more challenging variation or slowing down for each rep.
You can never fully isolate a muscle; other muscles will work in conjunction.
To develop a truly great butt, you need the legs to match.
I really recommend going with a full body workout three times a week, coupled with another 2-3 sessions of cardio like running, where you would add a couple of additional butt exercises at the end to really bring up this body part.

This will ensure that you don’t develop muscle imbalances which can both make you look a bit weird and affect your health. You can switch up the exercises you chose each training session.

Do 3 sets with a challenging weight, ideally something you can only manage for 10-12 repetitions, but going as high as 15-25 is acceptable if you can only use your bodyweight. Switch to harder variations, add weight, add repetitions, slow down or add 1-2 more sets when doing the recommended sets and reps gets easy.

1. Deep Squats
When doing squats, particularly with only your bodyweight, it is best to go as low as you can while keeping your back straight, as this ensures maximum glute activation. The stance should be slightly wider than shoulder width or even a bit wider, depending on your build, and you should lower yourself down keeping a neutral spine.

To ensure that your knees don’t cave in and that your upper back doesn’t round, you can hold your palms together in front of your chest, which flares out the elbows. I

ncrease difficulty gradually by holding a weight in front of the chest or doing one legged squats when the exercise becomes easy. You will get strong very quickly doing these, and they will help improve flexibility as well as overall core strength.

2. Horse Stance
The horse stance or horse-riding stance is a staple of several different martial arts, and is a great way to build some strength and size in the thighs and glutes. You start by standing straight, and opening up your normal stance about a foot or two beyond shoulder-width on both sides, then you squat down as if you were going to sit back in a chair.

Your thighs should be parallel to the ground. You’ll definitely feel the burn and will have to really focus on not giving up. Try to hold this position for as long as you can. Beginners should aim for about 15-30 seconds and gradually increase this period over time.

Advanced practitioners can hold the position for 5-10 minutes.

3. Step-up
Step-ups are a great dynamic exercise that really activates glutes and provides a good cardiovascular workout all in one. All you need a platform that is a little bit higher than your knees – somewhere around mid-thigh is good, but you can start out with a lower platform at first – e.g. a chair.

You step on it with one foot, raise your body up, and then bring the knee of your other leg up as high as you can, before stepping back down gently. You can make it a bit more difficult by holding small weights in your hands, or even something like a big water jug in front of you once you get stronger.

4. Glute Bridges
This one really hits the glutes hard, so be ready for some soreness afterwards. To perform the exercise you simply lie down on your back and, with your feet planted comfortably on the ground and knees pointed upwards, raise your butt off the floor until only your feet, backs of the shoulders and head are touching the floor.

Make sure to push the hips as high up as you can and squeeze the glutes hard at the top. The exercise quickly becomes very easy, at which point you can straighten one leg and push off one leg at a time. You can also put some weight on your lower ab area, e.g. dumbbell or big water jug, and hold it steady with your hands.

5. Rear Leg Lifts
Knelling on your knees and hands, with arms straight, you lift one leg off the floor and push the foot toward the ceiling. Bring the leg back down slowly under control and then alternate between legs.

These can be a bit hard at first, and may cause you to cramp up a bit, so make sure you stretch properly afterwards. You can add some ankle weights or pinch a small dumbbell between your calf and hamstring to add some difficulty as you get stronger.

6. Side Leg Lifts
Lying on your side – you should use some extra padding on the floor, like a thick folded-up blanket or a couple of yoga mats – you lift one leg up, then bring it almost all the way down slowly. Once you are finished on one side, switch to the other side. This is a great one for hitting some of the smaller muscles of the legs as well as the glutes.

7. Cossack Lunges
These are a great way to improve flexibility and balance, while your legs and butt do some serious work.

With legs about a couple of feet wider than shoulder-width, you shift your weight to one side, squatting down on that leg and keeping the other one straight. Once you hit the bottom position, you point the toes of the straight leg upwards, hold for a second, then put the foot back on the ground raise slightly and shift the weight towards the other side. You repeat the same on the other side and then keep alternating.  

8. Fire Hydrants
Start in a kneeling position, just like for the rear leg lifts, and then raise one leg to the side, keeping a 900 knee bend. Then you start rotating from the hip, making small circles at first and then wide swooping circles.

Do this for as long as you can, some 20-30 seconds at first, for three sets. This is a good exercise for opening up the hips, improving mobility as well as strengthening the glutes and some of the smaller muscles in the legs that are tough to target.

9. Full Bridge
Lying straight on your back with feet planted and knees up, place the palms of your hands on the ground at either side of your head, fingers pointed towards the shoulders, then begin to raise the entire body, pushing the feet and hands as you push the hips up.

This requires a decent amount of wrist and shoulder mobility, as well as some arm strength, but it is highly effective. It really hits the glutes, legs and shoulders, while at the same time stretching out the abs and upper body.

Hold the position for as much as you can – 30-60 seconds at first, but no more than 2-3 minutes as you don’t want too much blood rushing into your head for extended periods of time – then slowly go back down, and keep lying for another 60-90 seconds before getting up to let the blood flow readjust gradually.

This is a great finisher, and you can raise one leg up to add some difficulty.

10. Flutter Kicks
This is a great way to target the abs and the glutes, the two body parts every woman wants to shape up for the summer. Lying flat on the back, raise your legs off the ground to about 450, then push one up as you lower the other down, alternating them like this for as long as you can.

These are some of the best exercises for developing a full, round and firm butt that will turn heads, but you shouldn’t neglect the rest of your body or cardio work. There is no need to overdo it – with 3 training sessions a week and a focus on constantly improving, you’ll develop all the right curves in no time.
